WHAT IS B.COM ?
Bachelor of Commerce (B.com) is a three-year undergraduate degree programme offered in full-time, distance learning, and online formats.The majority of commerce students enroll in a B.com course at the undergraduate level, making it the most popular subject in the commerce stream. Students have two alternatives when it comes to UG commerce courses: B.com and B.com (Honours).
The primary objective of the B.com graduate program is to provide education in the areas of commerce and finance. During this three-year degree course, candidates can also take elective subjects. Financial accounting, corporation tax, economics, company law, auditing, business management, and other topics are covered during the course of the B.com degree’s three years. B.com is the first step toward a profession in commerce, finance, accountancy, banking, or insurance. While preparing for Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accounting, and Company Secretaryship, several B.com students consider the course to be Plan B.
After completing B.com students can work in administration, education, advertising, journalism, mass communication, law, design, and other fields. A B.com graduate’s beginning pay ranges from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.
Eligibility Criteria for B.com
Unlike technical and vocational education, most Indian universities and colleges offer B.com degrees in both regular and distance learning formats. The following are the B.com eligibility requirements:
- The candidates needed to study commerce in class 11 and 12 with Accountancy, Economics, Business studies, Maths as an optional subject and the main subject will be English.
- For admission to the college applied to, the candidate must fulfil the minimal cut-off requirements.
- Each college/university’s cut off marks criterion may change depending on the college/university’s admission requirements for that year.
Factors Affecting the minimum cut off marks for admissions are :
- The highest score in commerce
- The total percentage of commerce in 12 standard
- The average score in commerce
- Minimum cut off marks for the last year etc.
